The North Dakota Cyber Security Conference brings together community members from education, government, and industry to share strategies, best practices, and innovative solutions to address today’s challenges in cyber security. The vast scope of modern cyber threats calls for active participation from individuals and organizations across the state.

2. BSides Cybersecurity Conference 2023

North Dakota State University (NDSU) hosted the second BSides Cybersecurity Conference in Fargo on October 14, 2023. The conference featured presentations, workshops, and a capture-the-flag competition. It brings together cybersecurity professionals, students, and those interested in the field to network and learn about new tools and techniques.

3. Dakota Digital Academy, Security Challenges in Electric-Vehicles

The talk was published in collaboration with North Dakota State University (NDSU), Dakota Digital Academy and Dakota Digital Review. The detailed article is published here. “It is expected that over half of new car sales in the U.S. will be electric by 2030,” Zia Muhammad. “This is an exciting step forward for improving the quality of air we breathe, tackling noise pollution, carbon emissions, and working towards better energy security. However, as is the case with any new digital technologies, security, and privacy factors need to be considered, especially if they pertain to the safety of our roads. This talk was focused on some of these issues as well as discussed security best practices for electric vehicles.” (Thursday, October 13, 2022)

4. Spreading Cybersecurity Awareness at the Institute of Space Technology

Institute of Space Technology (IST) is a public sector university located in Islamabad, Pakistan. It is focused on the study of astronomy, aerospace engineering, computer science, and astronautics. Established in 2002 under the auspices of the Pakistan National Space Agency. It was a great cyber awareness session and I was surprised to see students’ motivation and learning curiosity. 5. Cybersecurity Trainer at National Cyber Security Auditing and Evaluation Lab (NCSAEL–NUST)

National Cyber Security Auditing & Evaluation Lab (NCSAEL), a joint venture of HEC and the Planning Commission of Pakistan, successfully conducted the “5 Days Cyber Security Training Session” starting from 28th June, 2021 to 2nd July 2021. The training was intended to equip students and professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to combat the modern threats and attacks in the cyber security domain.

6. Invited Speaker, 20th Annual Arab Cyber Security Conference

Zia Muhammad spoke at the Arab Security Conference, an annual international Cyber Security event that was held in Cairo, Egypt.
